DAY 12 - Tuesday July 12th

The rain did not stop all night and it is still very overcast right now. I made ham, egg, onion , cheese, and tomato sandwiches for breakfast and now I am getting ready to go play some golf. Hope to make it into the local village today to try and find a rice picking straw hat, a map of Japan and another sushi knife.

Well we were 100% on the goals for the day. After the golf which I shot my best so far 34 and Matt played pretty good to 40. We did some fun video on the course and some stills as well. The weather was really foggy and it was cool and wet out. The fog would just roll in from time to time.

After golf Matt and I went to the cabin and boxed up some food supplies to go to Alice's brothers to make lunch. By the time we got there everyone had eaten except for me and Matt. So I did what I love to do and cut up some tuna and made sushi rolls. Can't get enough.

After lunch Matt, Mel, Alice's brother, and myself went into a small village to get some stuff. Did I mention that I started doing push ups every day and that I am up to 30. I try and go up one per day. I got Z (11yr nephew) to start doing them too. We are in competition now and he is catching up. Ok back to the village....

The first place we went to was a total SUCCESS. It was an old Japanese rice restaurant/hand made tools and stuff store. I got an awesome sushi knife and 2 really super cool rice picker hats. I have gotten tons of compliments on my straw hat and I want to try and get some more so I can sell them at the surf shop that my friend runs. They were probably the most reasonable item I bought on the whole trip. $ 6.00 and I could sell them for 45.00 at the surf shop. I am trying to get Alice's brother to send me a couple and give it a try. The knife I bought was a very good price too.

I got Matt a really cool corduroy hat and Alice's brother got them some stuff too. When I paid the lady she was very appreciative of the money that we spent and she gave us a bag of hard noodles. My rice picker hat had some Japanese writing on it and said " Come play with me you orphaned sparrow" I thought this was pretty neat as I planned on wearing it mostly at my CROSSWAVES beach events and we might have some orphaned sparrows at those.

Next stop was the post office and we managed to mail Mel's post card to her best friend and get a couple maps as well. Ok now it was time to find out about the next big adventure we were planning and that was WAKEBOARDING. We found an outfit and booked it for the day after next.

Well the day just flew by and it is now dinner time. I cooked the noodles we got today and some pork with home made sauce. We worked on a new Jig Saw and watched Rainman. Can't wait for tomorrow. Night Night
