This second one I designed
myself too. I had it all ready to go by early 2003. I was going
to get it in August 2003 I ended up getting it
in January 2005 (today
actually - Jan
18th) (just a slight delay, the timing never seemed
right!) It is in the middle of my back just above my
tailbone and YES it was done by
Raul of course, he now works HERE
Naturally it is rather red from having been
just done, I'll update
this page in about 2 wks with a new photo of the
healed tattoo.
I designed this one
from scratch mostly, the heart graphic I found, flipped and
duplicated to create the 4 hearts. The rose I clipped out of
something, but the leaves, vine and fish I did in
PowerPoint!
The MRB, MKB, MGB and
MJB are
the initials of my 4
kids. Yes they are my 4 M&M's
- 3 plain &
1 with nuts ;)
(3 girls &
1 boy!!) The
NEB is my
husband.
The 4 hearts in the middle are for my
4 children as each one
of them has captured my heart forever.
The Jeremiah 29:11
verse is very significant, it was give to me as a 10 yr old
child when I accepted Christ as my Saviour and it's the promise I
rest in for my 4 children. This is from the NIV (New
International Version) bible. T For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD ,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future.
The Rose
is for me - the English Rose !! (notice no thorns! I am
NOT an English Rose amongst the thorns!)
4
Roses on each
side for the 4 kids.
The
Stars - there are
7 of them, one for each
member of the family and one for God, who makes us complete (
7 is also a very
biblical number )
The Vine is what keeps us all together.
The Fish is a Christian symbol - a
foundation for all of us. Wondering what the meaning of IXOYE/Jesus
Fish (from http://www.religioustattoos.net it explains it well)
For Christians, the fish is one of their
earliest symbols. It was used to profess their faith and to avoid
persecution. Christians chose the fish due to its prominence in
Jesus' teachings and because of a famous acrostic (the letters of a
word forming the initial letters of a phrase). The Greek word
fish—IXOYE—forms the acrostic "Iesous, Christos, Theou, Yios, Soter"
or "Jesus, Christ, God's, Son, Saviour." Besides serving as a brief
profession of faith, the fish also helped Christians distinguish
between friend and foe. When travelling, if a Christian met another
person, the Christian would draw half the fish (half a crescent) in
the sand. If the other person completed the fish, he or she was a
Christian. Gal. 6:17 is a reference to St. Paul's letter to the
Galatians.Paul writes, "From now on let no one cause trouble for me,
for I bear on my body the brand marks of
Jesus."
